Why is http://www.yourcountryyourcall.com/ promoted as a dotcom?

Watching the ads around the Your country, your call (or IdeasCampaign 2.0 the Thinkening!) I noticed that it is referred to as a dotcom and wondered why this is when this is all about doing something for Ireland. There is in fact a .ie but why promote it with the dotcom?

Actually politics.ie has a genuinely funny thread going. It’s a pity the hundred grand isn’t being offered to somebody who can make us all laugh.
